Work takes a large portion of the average worker's week
At work, many spend over a third of their waking hours
Work is a bridge from the life we live to the better one we seek
Our earnings grant us considerable purchasing and financing powers
Without work, the chances of survival in a hostile and evil world become bleak
And above one poverty, like an angry giant, looms and towers.
Work is the antidote to poverty
It is meant to pay out profitably
And it should be done with honesty
Our vocations should be such that they can be done sustainably
And result in more choices, freedom, and liberty
Work should provide a sense of positive achievement and progress daily.
The work we do should be of value to those who engage us
It should not be harmful to others or irreparably damaging to the environment
Avoid get rich quick schemes, and short-term gains with the potential of long-term loss
We benefit more from our vocations when we are left with feelings of genuine contribution and accomplishment
Work well done, superlatively when possible, will not leave us with guilt or remorse
Expectations of assessors and supervisors have been met and no room is left for disappointment.
So the way out of the rut of lack
Is within the reach of all who seek a gig
With guidance and patience seekers can get their lives back
For what starts out small can end up big
At times all it takes is just a little spark
And life's joys come back so you could dance a merry jig!
